Collaborative Research Cluster approved by DFG

The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) has approved a collaborative research cluster (SFB 1491) applied for by the Ruhr Universität Bochum, Technische Universität Dortmund and Bergische Universität Wuppertal. The research topic is "Cosmic Interacting Matters - From Source to Signal".

Our department as a member of the Ruhr Astroparticle and Plasma Physics Center (RAPP) is involved in two projects, one studying the transport properties of cosmic rays in the transition region from Galactic to extragalactic origins, and another one aimed at improving our understanding on hadronic interactions at center of mass energies much beyond those accessible at the CERN-LHC.
